It's a typical New York scene, a lady with dark outfit crosses Mercer Street in downtown Manhattan, I was impressed by colors of the winter, especially from the trees..

Let's change subject a little, I had a little trouble judging Janauary Bold Brush art contest, because when I got down to top 100 painting among more than 1500 entries, first I thought all these 100 people are winners pretty much, it's very difficult process to choose final 12 paintings.  I mean all these artist has different style and seem to have their own world going on. So when winners are chosed by a judge, I think it also something to do with personal taste as well as technical and artist impression. And I do believe some artist gets unlucky enough never able to win for a long time, so what I am suggesting is that artists should not be discouraged by certain art competition,

rather think as partial opportunity, and any artist who wins or lose could become great artist eventually.

I personally was very much surprised by a lot of artist able to establish their own world...yes, same subject matter with many many different style.. My purpose of painting is very simple, making a poetry out of our daily life, but the process could be very complex and sometimes I do get into trouble..
